DHI were using an unsupported Linux mail server which was not integrated into the rest of their Microsoft based system. The organisation also used webmail which had little or no support. Each of the four main sites had separate servers which did not communicate with each other. Hence there was no capability for centralised file sharing and little flexibility for users moving between sites and being able to log on and work as they would at their main site.
